I sat him tonight. I have just about zero faith in this guy, especially with all of the trade rumours for an extra distraction. I'm also lucky enough to have Josh Beckett.

This is about what I was thinking. Don't forget, the Jays are also in that division so he can k another 14 guys real soon.

According to the Miami Herald, "A.J. Burnett was on the mound for the Marlins, and not on his way to the Baltimore Orioles, on Tuesday. That's because the two clubs still were trying to iron out differences about how much each team would pay toward the remainder of Mike Lowell's contract. That stumbling block caused the proposed trade to cool slightly, but sources said they still expect the deal to be completed. The deal now on the table would send Burnett and Lowell to the Orioles in exchange for reliever Jorge Julio, outfielder Larry Bigbie, minor-league pitcher Hayden Penn and possibly reliever Steve Kline."
Check AJ's home/road splits. Ouch. He's going from a good pitchers park in the NL to a much stronger division in the AL with a lousy home park for pitchers. I don't think he'll implode, because he's got the stuff (if he can stay healthy), but things are gonna be much tougher for him in Baltimore and his stats will reflect that.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

They both say essentially the same thing - that Florida won't eat as much of Lowell's contract as Baltimore would like. It sounds like Burnett may still be going to Baltimore, but it doesn't look like I'm going to get M-Cab on the hot corner as soon as I would like, if at all.
