center field?

Bernie is slow as heck now. In other words he's old and rusty. After the Texas game on July 18th, it proves crosby has to come in and play. He has and will blow games. They need to get corey patterson or someone else who can run.

Welcome to the Cafe, glad we got another Yankee fan...

This has been talked about alot throughout the year, and yeah Bernie is slowing down rapidly. I'm pretty sure Crosby came in to pinch-run for Ruben when he got hurt rounding first, but I could be wrong.

Didn't Crosby play CF a couple times during the Red Sox series before the AS break? :-? I thought he was a SS by trade, though I'm not for sure.

Crosby hasn't played any position but the OF.

14 LF
24 CF
28 RF

If he could get the bat going I think Torre would play him.

I think the Yanks would be fine without Bernie's bat in the lineup, they've got plenty of pop elsewhere, putting Bubba in the 9 spot shouldn't be a problem.

Maybe you were thinking of Bobby Crosby, the SS for the A's?

Patterson? Don't be silly; I heard a joke like that on WFAN today.

The guy is in the minors- he can't even play for the Cubs. What then makes anyone think he could play for the Yankees?

Obviously Bernie can't play for more than a game a week out there and Crosby can't hit for his life. Melky can't field yet and Womack is a disaster.

The answer has to come from outside and I really don't know who that answer is, but its sure as heck not Corey "K" Patterson.

Welcome to the Cafe.
