Gerut of Indians to Cubs for Dubois

OF Jody Gerut was traded to the Chicago Cubs yesterday, sending OF Jason Dubois to the Indians.

As a cubs fan im questioning this deal given dubois' power numbers, but im not going to shoot it down before seeing gerut play - i hear he's a maniac on defense so.

Yea, he's solid on the defensive end but his offensive numbers have been going down since his rookie year a couple years back. He's not exactly the player that's going to push the cubbies over the edge but he's not a bad player to have on the team since he can play a good outfield.

I'm not exactly sure what hole he fills on the cubs though, he's not a leadoff hitter.
