Time to cut Bonds?

I've been sitting all year with Bonds in my DL slot hoping he would finally recover and get back to playing. Now I have Halladay on the DL which makes me keeping Bonds around quite the predicament. Is it time to drop Bonds? He keeps saying "I'm progressing well" one week followed by "I may not play this year". Frankly I'm getting sick of it. Any opinions? Time to kick him to the wavier wire or keep on waiting?

Who do you need more?

I suspect neither one will return before Sept, and neither team will push them to come back to help either. Both will likely be playing w/ some discomfort or whatever, assuming they return. If Bonds does return, he's probably more likely to be productive. I'd think Halladay's leg would bother him more than Bonds' knees if/when they first return.

Either way, don't expect much help from them.

I released him four days ago to pick up Lackey. I needed Ks. I suggest if you are slacking in a particular category, you pick up a specialist to help you there. Bonds recently cleared waivers in my league. I suspect he will be available if/when he decides to ever play. If you stay on top of the situation, you should be able to get him before anyone else.

In my 10-team mixed league the best DL FA's available are Nick Johnson, Brad Hawpe, and C. Wang. So I'm keeping Bonds in my DL spot for now because those guys don't do much for me.
