Zaun's a good catcher, but starting him against VMart right now seems odd, IMO. Play him when VMart's out, but I don't think his number over the last month are near VMart's.

In the exact same situation. AJ's found a power stroke this year i guess. If it was a keeper league i'd jump all over zaun right now, but for this year it might be a push with AJs extra power and Zaun's better average leveling it out.

I'll second that ... a second time.
Every time I've got my finger trigger poised over the 'drop' button next to A.J.'s name, he cranks one out. The problem with Pierz is not his overall numbers, just that he sits out so danged often. Among all the regular catchers on rosters in my 14-team league, he has the fewest plate appearances of any not DL'd.
I still like Zaun's production and his spot in the 5-hole in that offense. He's the top catcher on my watch list. Think I'll put that trigger finger back over the drop button ...

Ditto. I've got V-Mart, but I'm definitely mulling over dealing him and sweeping up Zaun in my keeper, depending on what kind of value I can lure from other owners.
After watching many games at the Rogers Centre, I've noticed that Zaun is more and more comfortable each day with his stance and swing. He looks good out there. Personally I like him better on the left side, but he is improving on the right side.
Considering he was not even close to being a starter a couple years back..this guy is showing what he can do.
