What I mean is, how many Vietnam movies were being made during the Vietnam War? How about WWII movies during WWII? I personally think they ought to wait several years like other films have done.
Just my opinion.
Maybe. Hadn't really thought about it under those terms. I don't really see it as a huge problem though, and it looks like a good show. I'll probably tune in and see what its all about.
Agreed - ill give it a chance though, being a history buff/future teacher i feel obligated to check it out at least.

It certainly looks exciting and I do love war movies, but this a bit different. I'll probably give it a look at least.

I don't have a problem with it being about a still ongoing conflict. It looks like a terrific show, and our soldiers are working so hard over there, they deserve to have a show giving people an idea of the struggles they go through.

True, but questions of realism will abound. The particular political preference of the writers could have an enormous effect on what is shown.

Yeah it premieres tommorrow night. Thanks for the heads up. I read a review yesterday morning that said they hired an Iraq veteran to consult for the show and train the actors to be authentic looking soldiers.
