Anyone here read Entertainment Weekly? In the new issue I got on Friday, there was a big article about this show coming out called Over There about the war in Iraq, and they had a CD-Rom in the magazine with the first 20 minutes of the pilot episode. I just watched it earlier today and it was very cool. Looks like it's going to be a really intense show. I had seen the ads for it during Rescue Me, but now I'm even more intrigued.....Anyone else heard of this show?
I definitely plan on checking it out, it looks like a modern-day Band of Brothers almost. I think it's by the same people who did The Shield, which is another awesome show.

Agree that The Shield is awesome!
Not sure about this show though. I've seen the commercials, but I'm just not interested.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Well it's actors, but it's based on the real ordeal and suffering our troops in Iraq go through. They had a DVD in last weeks Entertainment Weekly that had a long clip of the first episode. It looks like a really cool show...lot's of battle scenes, but it should be powerful.
I don't really think its right for something like this to come out in the midst of the war going on. What I mean is, how many Vietnam movies were being made during the Vietnam War? How about WWII movies during WWII? I personally think they ought to wait several years like other films have done.

Just my opinion.
Maybe. Hadn't really thought about it under those terms. I don't really see it as a huge problem though, and it looks like a good show. I'll probably tune in and see what its all about.
