So, what's the verdict on him now?
Is he up for good? Any chance he'll stay in the leadoff slot? Will he get on base enough to steal, steal, steal?
Basically, should you pick him up now or wait and see?

Pinella announced that Gathright will take the leadoff spot vs. righties for the time being. Craford will hit second. That means Joey will sit out 1-2 games a week. But in a league such as mine where a handful of steals can mean 3-4 points in the standings, I think this pickup may be one of those seemingly small but ultimately decisive moves.
Caveat: Anything Pinella says is written in chalk. This may only last a week.

Chalk is pretty generous. I'd say water is more like it.
All the same, I hope he comes through iwth this. Joey G might have a great second half if he's regularly batting leadoff.
I'm tempted to start him again, but I'm concerned about all the flux he causes in my roster.. yesterday the guy I ultimately ended up benching for him was Brandon Inge, the worst choice I could have possibly made..

Crawford says that he LIKES this lineup change. He'd prefer hitting 2nd or 3rd as he doesn't like worrying about his OBP...he'd rather just focus on making solid contact. Pinella of course liked the results and I'm sure Gathright won't complain about ANY sort of PT at this point in his career. I'd expect this to continue as long as it stays productive which makes Gathright a reasonable fa pickup for people that need R's and SB's.
