Okay, there's already a thread on the worst moves so far, and apparently there have been some truly awful ones (including several by me that you can see in that thread). So what are the BEST moves? And by best, I don't mean no-brainers like drafting Pujols or Arod in the 1st round.
Without a doubt, my best moves have been picking up closers-in-waiting before they became closers. I picked up Turnbow, Lyon, Hermanson, Brazoban, and Reitsma before they became closers. I drafted Chad Cordero in like the 20th round of my draft. I was completely dominating saves, and dealt Cordero for Carpenter and Hermy and Reistma for Sheets (I needed starter help badly). Even after those deals, I'm still leading saves by a good margin, and picked up some fantastic pitching in Carpenter and some good pitching (with upside) in Sheets.
My other good moves are drafting Carlos Lee in the 8th round of my draft (!), Brian Giles in the 22nd (!), Shawn Green in the 14th, and Loaiza and Millwood in the 18th and 19th. Okay, Loaiza and Millwood have had terrible run support so far, but have posted ERAs well under 4 with lotsa Ks and good ratios. With stats like that, the wins have gotta come, no?
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.
