Whats up with Aaron Harang? Nearly a K/inning, 3-1 k/bb ratio and a nice 1.20 whip. Seems like with those peripherals he should have a better era and a lot more wins -- just now got it under 4. And he's only given up 9 hrs all season.
He's had two superb outings, might be turning it on for an awesome second half --
Actually he's given up less homeruns than he should considering the ton of flyballs he gives up, and as such his era is about right where it should be. Good fantasy option though, I think.

He's had a real tough schedule from start of June til now
@COL, BAL, @BOS, STL, @CLE, HOU, SF Era jumped from 2.97 to 3.95 during that span.
As long as his schedule doesn't involve him facing top teams + teams on hot streaks every outing the rest of the way he should put up a decent numbers.

I couldnt have said it better myself. Add to that that he was traded for by me JUST before that stretch and you have to be willing to give him some lee way to implode.
That said, i am still quite happy to have gotten him and consider him a very nice pitching sleeper for the 2nd half and even more so for keeper leagues. I consider him a poor mans Ben Sheets. First, they are the same age, though sheets has one more season in the majors and considerably more innings pitched. Secondly, he is not likely to get many wins because he is on a pretty bad team. Third, he averages close to a strikeout per inning which is HUGE for a starter. Lastly, He is in his 4th year of pitching. That is where Sheets seemed to 'get it' and make a MARKED improvement.

The wins are probably a product of the team he plays for.
The rest of the stuff is good, though. I have him on the team I'm running against other Cafe members (very poorly, as a matter of fact ). I do like the K's, and I hope he has a good 2nd half (not against the Pirates though ).

He actually pitched better than his ERA in '04 so I had him pegged as something of a sleeper for this year (and still do, since he's been somewhat unlucky this year as well). Unfortunately, despite my nagging, I've been unable to pry him from his owner since before the season began. Talk about an underrated pitcher -- this could be a guy that quietly puts together a very good season.
