Per Rotoworld:
Troy Percival, who was placed on the DL yesterday, is concerned that he'll need elbow surgery that could keep him sidelined into next year.
Percival said he was in more pain recently than he was when he first went on the DL back in May and missed four weeks. An examination by Dr. Lewis Yocum on Monday should determine whether he can avoid surgery. ''If he can get me back, and the team's in the running and I can come back and throw great, that's obviously what I want to do,'' Percival said. ''But if he tells me, 'Look, you need to get this fixed,' then I'll respect that and get it fixed. Or if he tells me, 'There's nothing we can do, period,' then I'll have to make an adjustment from there. It's one of those things I'm still up in the air on, because I don't want to go back the way I did it the last time.''
So it looks like Farnsworth could potentially be a really good pickup, assuming he officially has the job and assuming he's any good in the role.
