I just picked him up as a temporary replacement for Aubrey Huff. If he keeps hitting this way, it might just become permanent.

Huge Tiger fan and I was lucky enough to pick Shelton up -- but I'm also a low-expectations sort of fellow (aren't all Tiger fans, really?).

I expect decent power numbers for the rest of the year, but his 4-1 K/BB rate doesn't bode well for his average. Folks with that ratio generally (and there are expections) have a hard time getting above .270.

And pitchers are smart. They will exploit his weaknesses next time around the schedule.

I think Shelton will be ultimately be what everyone expected Dallas McPherson to be this year: .250-.260/25-30/80ish (over a year).

I'll take that off the FA market. Anything more is a bonus in my book.

Watching Chris Shelton on my league's waiver wire is like watching Carmen Electra perform a strip-tease. As much as I like Carmen Electra, I'll never be able to have any relationship with her. Same with Chris Shelton. As long as he's on my waiver wire. I can't pick him up. Just look at this team:
