No, not Hideki, the Matsui from the Bronx -- sorry if you were worried -- the ugly stepsister Matsui, Kaz from Flushing.
I don't have any text sources on this, but the bruised knee he's on the DL with turns out to be deeper than expected -- to the bone. The Met's are treating it like a fracture, which means he's out for a while. Good for Mets fans, bad for anyone whose league is so insanely deep that they actually have "Haz" Mat on their roster...

Mets' GM Omar Minaya revealed that Matsui's injury, which the team was calling a bruised knee, is actually a bad bone bruise that is being treated as if it were a fracture, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Matsui's leg is not immobilized in any way, and he is swinging the bat during rehabilitation in Port St. Lucie, but Minaya said Matsui should be out for "a while." Miguel Cairo will start at second base with Matsui out with Marlon Anderson also seeing some time at the position.

Ahh..Who cares?
You should care because when Matsui realizes he can't play MLB ball again, Hinske regains his title as worst player in the league.
The Mets will win the World Series this year.

Womack is currently fighting off C. Guzman for that title.
