right now he is the closer. both he and timlin were warming up when the sox were winning for the 8th and 9th innings. i think this is one of the stupidest moves in the post-duqette reign for the sox. schill is not ready. he is not pushing off at all. he needs to keep rehabbing until he is ready for the rotation. let timlin close, bradford can set up and maybe they can trade for qualls or fuentes. i am so pissed off right now. it seems like the sox are rushing schill along just for the pub. i know they dont need it and probably arent doing that but the shear stupidity of it all just makes me so mad :-P

I agree. I don't know if it's the ankle or what but he just still doesn't look right and tonight was the worst possible scenario for him to come in and fail.

I don't know what's going to happen from here. Guess we'll find out if they're in a save situation tomorrow.

The Red Sox need to let Schill take the rest of the year off to rehab that ankle. Give the ankle 6 months, till it's at full strength where he can be his best, then bring him back for the start of next season. I know no Red Sox fan would want to hear this, but he's not going to be good this year pitching the way he was tonight. Also, he's not going to help his ankle or his arm by pitching the way he is right now.

Odds are there won't be. I'm expecting a 16-5 game tomorrow.

Schilling's got to be on thin ice.

I expect Timlin to close soon.

sorry I think economics talk hear........ Schilling will not be a setup/middle relief @ his salary.

He'll most likely be the closer until he makes the starting lineup again..... I'd expect any trades to be made to coincide with his return to the rotation.
If you found my advice helpful, please help me

Now... or he should have never been permitted to close. That might be an answer more fitting for the question.

It's not like Timlin was lights out tonight. I know it was one game, but he didn't look all that strong from what little I caught of the inning he pitched. :-?
