Leiter a Yank???

I just heard the Yanks might make a play for Leiter. Interesting. Unfortunately, I think he's done but with Brown always a injury risk it might make sense.

Just what they need. Another guy who remembers when Coolidge was president.

Although at this point, I guess beggars can't be choosers.

If its just for money then its fine by me. He can't be any worse than Redding or May.

I'll take him. We only have 2 healthy starters right now with Mussina and RJ. Pavano is at least 2 weeks away, and Brown is a possibility for next week, but who the hell knows with him.

Wright is done until August at the very earliest and Wang could be done for the season.

I don't care how old he is, he can't be any worse than May and Redding and Henn. He's got experience, and he's a lefty.

Its just money; this sounds good to me with our current 2 healthy starters.

I don't want him at all... too much of a whiner and headache, but I guess I'd take anything right now as long as I never have to see May again, which is doubtful. :-P

I'm willing to give Redding a shot tomorrow, although I'm braced for the worst. Only upside is that the Red Sox aren't too familiar with, which gives him atleast a decent shot to give the Yankees to win.

I trimmed down those stats to make it a little easier to line it up, and I think you get the picture with these here...that's an interesting split. Except I always thought Florida was a pitchers park. :-?

He's a Yankee now.

Rotoworld:
The Yankees have agreed on a deal to buy Al Leiter from the Marlins, Newsday reports.
MLB.com is still saying another player is involved in the deal, but according to Newsday, it's a cash transaction, with the Yankees sending about $250,000 to Florida and paying about $150,000 of what the left-handed is still owed this season. The deal is expected to become official today, allowing the Yankees to start Leiter tomorrow against the Red Sox.

Thank god someone can pitch on Sunday now. :-°
