Hell, I'd sign him if I'm the Yankees.

At least he has a track record. May and Redding? Awful. :-P

If? That's not an if. It's a when.

And May already showed that he blows. Against the INDIANS. Call Leiter now, don't even think about letting him on the mound against the Red Sox.

He's old and washed up for the most part but I can't say that he wouldn't fit right in with the Yankees. With Wang down, and the Yankees with only 2 starters (RJ and Moose) Leiter could make his return to the Yankees.

Think any other teams could be interested?

Maybe Baltimore or Toronto.

AHHH, never :-t , now i feel like a Yankee fan :-D

He helped me win a couple leagues as well when he was like the number 7 or 9 pitcher in baseball ;-D

With the Yanks' rotation now, I hope they go out and get him.

Update from Rotoworld (saw it on FOX too)

The Yankees have agreed on a deal to buy Al Leiter from the Marlins, Newsday reports.
MLB.com is still saying another player is involved in the deal, but according to Newsday, it's a cash transaction, with the Yankees sending about $250,000 to Florida and paying about $150,000 of what the left-handed is still owed this season. The deal is expected to become official today, allowing the Yankees to start Leiter tomorrow against the Red Sox.

Good move for the Yankees IMO with the staff in shambles.

Yeah, I'm not too excited about getting him but there's really nothing else to do. Just hope for the best tomorrow.
