The #1 thing I can tell you is that you have to want to quit smoking in order to quit. If deep down you don't want to quit, then you're just wasting your time and money (if you buy anti-smoking aids like Nicorette). Drill it into your head why you want to quit, and how much you need to quit, and then remind yourself why all the time. Drill it into your head as best as you can.
Good luck!
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

I don't like it but when you're the boss and the stress builds, damn it feels good to go out for a smoke. I can tell you that if it wasn't for the Cafe I would smoke a lot more than I do
Actually, places like the Cafe allowed me to smoke more. Nothing like sitting at the PC with a smoke burning and an ashtray full of butts.
No smoking in the house or office. Last summer I actually sat in the backyard with my laptop so that I could surf and smoke but I stopped when my three year old called me a loser.
good luck besides having your own plan to quit, it is also important to have an accountability partner, someone who will ask you frequently if you have stopped smoking. I think the cafe could help out here. Everyday someone needs to pm WharfRat to make sure he isn't smoking!

Good point. My girl has that part pretty well covered now, though.
I haven't smoked since Friday, and I can't believe how much better I feel. The weekend wasn't nearly so bad as I thought it would be, and I haven't even thought about buying a pack in the last couple days. The Yankees series win over the Sox helped a bunch, of course.

Good to hear. Posting on your progress here may help too. We apparently don't know much on the subject of girls/relationships but hopefully maybe this'll be a chance to redeem ourselves.

Truer words have never been spoken. Unfortunately.
