He's headed to Colorado:

I think he's worth a flyer, but of course it depends on your league size. Thoughts?

I'm thinking about dropping Patterson or Sosa for him.

If you mean Corey, both those guys should already be dropped, depending on league size of course.

I think I'm going to take a chance and drop Mark Kotsay for Byrnes. In Oakland, he really wasn't a guy who should've been on many fantasy radars, and as much as I think Kotsay will have a solid second half and finish with Runs and RBI close to, if not surpassing 100 apiece, I think Byrnes in Colorado will be able to bolster some power numbers, and be let loose on the basepaths more. You can certainly do worse than him as your last outfielder in most leagues, I'd bet. ;-D

Byrnes is a marginal player who plays hard. He'll get his PT but I doubt he'll warrant a roster spot.

Rumour has it that Byrnes may be swiftly shipped off elsewhere though... if he does stay in Colorado, he's worth at least a bench spot in most leagues.

I grabbed him as my only bench hitter in my 14 team money leauge, 12 teams may be stretching it a little but ofcourse, it depends on rosters.

Unless you are in a DEEP league (like 14+), Byrnes is truly a marginal, borderline waiver crap.

wasn't he basically a 20 20 type player in oakland? getting out of there means more stolen bases, and colorado means more homers ... so i don't see why he's only a borderline crap OF etc. i'd take a 25 25 player - which seems like a definite possibility. i know he hasn't been doing well this year, but keep in mind he hasn't been getting full playing time in oakland and the Athletics as a team has been sucking the first couple of months.

i'm not saying he WILL be a 25+ 25+ player, but i just look at what coors did to castilla, and burnitz to a lesser extent last year, and think he's a big - not just a borderline - potential breakout player rest of this season.
