I would assume oil is a good investment since I pay 55 dollars each trip to the pump now a days.

I'm not a stock guru in the least bit, but that doesn't keep me out of the market.

As far as oil goes I own Occidental (OXY). I've owned it for about 15 years. Seems to do well for me.

My asset allocation right now is 55% Equities, 40% Fixed Income, and 5% Cash.

Don't know what you Investment guys think. Let me know.

I recommend reading "The Motley Fool Investment Guide", and "The Only Investment Guide You'll ever need". Solid books for the person who wants to know more about investing. Read stuff online about the Roth IRA, TIPS, etc. It's quite easy to be a millionaire by the age of 65- you just need to learn how to save and invest intelligently.

It doesn't matter what you invest in, first you have to understand the risks and what you're getting into.

Also, if you want to have some stock market type fun with fake money and you like movies, try the Hollywood Stock Exchange (http://www.hsx.com).

You buy and sell stock in movies, pay commissions, etc. Lots of fun for guys like us as you obviously like fantasy sports.
