Larry Bowa's confidence on Mesa is draining quickly, and he's blown 3 saves and sports a ~5.63 ERA. Bowa said he would turn to Wendell and Cormier if Mesa keeps sucking, and the Phillies might be in the market for a closer. Anyone got anything on this?

I would really like to see Rheal Cormier do it, if for no other reason than he's from the same region of Canada that I am and we almost never see players from around here, let alone Canada make it. That said, Wendell is probably the most likely bet because he is a righty and Cormier is a leftie, and Bowa may not want to save his best lefty for save situations.
wow, those are bad options. Mr. Slider Turk Wendell doesn't have closer stuff. Unless they trade for someone, they should stick with Mesa

I would love to see Turk do it. There's no such thing as "closer stuff" so long as a guy can get outs. Turk can do that. Plus, he has a closer's bulldog mentality.
great, just what we need, another wild thing...I can make a run over to atlantic city if i want to see that waste, i dont need to see a mitch williams clone.
Yep, after that he never pitched the same again. I met him at a small tourniment here, still had the mullet, biggest waste of life i have ever seen. But then again, the entire phillies team fell apart after that shot, they have never looked the same since. I still hate Joe Carter.
