He didn't even get in the game at all...it's the least they could do to say "thanks for coming."

As far as the car goes, I think it's a joke too. In fact I just said to my wife "Why does he need a freaking Corvette? He could buy 100 Corvettes if he wanted." It does really piss me off that these guys that make millions of dollars to play a game get free cars and stuff like that. It is a joke, but that's what you get when you put those who entertain us on another level...

For the same reason they pay millionaire a**holes like Trump to do a TV show where they show off their a**holedness as contestants suck up to them...because you pay attention to it and watch amd justify the expense. I am sure the makers of the car got their money's worth in advertising.

and every once in a while, it does go to someone who geniunely appreciates it (i'm thinking specifically of the car/blazer/thing that tom brady got for being the mvp of the first super bowl he won).

but the reason it's given? as alluded to above, not to do any good to the player, but to do good to the company. giving it to joe shmuck doesn't get them the same post-game hype publicity. besides, it's still peanuts compared to other things... heck, it was reported today the president of morgan stanley is getting $30MM just to leave the place.

long story short... they'll give it to you when you don't need it but they need you.

I would have liked Bay to get it also. Kind of sucks not to get in the game.
