Ditto ... what tipped that into 'worst' move on my part is that our first-place team, which was stuck with Thome, later grabbed Hafner just in time for his current hot streak.

Also, dropped Turnbow for Lyon opening week ...
And dropped FLopez during a particularly impatient roster-juggling stretch in May.

I wouldn't consider these HORRIBLE moves or anything, because I am still in first place, but there are a few movies I wish I could take back.

1) Keeping Crawford over Teixiera. Crawford is having a decent year, and has 24 steals - but other than that Teixiera is trumping him in homers, RBI and is batting around .300. I drafted Mourneu thinking he would give me back the power I lost with Texiera but he has been a bust so far this season. I should have kept Tex and drafted a Podsednick type to make up for the stolen bases.

2) Drafting Lidge so early. I took him in the 4th of 5th round - WAY too high. I underestimated the aenimic Astros offense and hoped he would have more chances. He is still having a good year, but I drafted Hoffman and BJ Ryan in later rounds and could have found other guys later. Instead of Lidge I could have drafted Jake Peavy (who I had my eye on) or Andruw Jones.

I think the dude who dropped Carlos Lee wins the award for worst move of the season. Sorry, dude.

Here's my horror stories:

Pre-season, I traded Halladay for Helton and then Helton for Beltre. That might not end up being so bad, if Halladay is out for an extended period and Beltre has a nice second half. But before Halladay got hurt, it was a truly awful trade.

I also turned down an offer for my Brandon Lyon for his Matt Morris a week before Lyon went to neverland on the DL. :~(

I also turned down, at the start of the season, an offer for my B Giles, Pavano, and Mota for his Manny and Vidro. :~(
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.

Turning down Derek Lee for Todd Helton in mid-may.

Also the drafting of Magglio Ordonez in the 8th round, and trading him as soon as he comes off the DL for Josh Beckett who goes on the DL in his first start on my team could become a good one.

Deciding to take a chance and picking up Ryan Madson instead of Brett Myers off the WW. 8-o

And wasting a decent pick on Corey Patterson.

I traded Jose Guillen for Andrew Jones before he went hot.

I traded Andruw Jones for Aubrey Huff before his 5HR week. :-P

oh boy where do I start? NOT trading schmidt and lidge for tejada -- I know start green there. I did deal lidge for Delagao though, so it may work out.

Not taking hermanson. Not taking jones (had mota) NOT trading damon and mota or krod for abreu.

Trading mussina and clark for huff -- this might, MIGHT still work as I need a 3b.

One of these days, I may keep a file on the "opportunity cost" that I lose on a season to season basis. I am always number 2 with an occasional win, and most of the time, turn down a trade that would win it for me. (Last year, turning down blalock for johan at the break -- would have CRUSHED)
