Craig Hansesn - Is he the next Huston?

Hey everybody,
Just a quick question abotu the supposed "filthiness" of Hansen. Do oyu think he'll be in Boston in September? Also, what is the likelihood of him actually signing in time to be of use in the Boston pen this year? And lastly, do you think given Foulke's issues, he'll be the closer net year?

Hansen sounds like the next guy to do just what chad cordero and houston street. He also even has a better closers stuff even though the other two are very effective with their nasty stuff.

But I doubt he'll be there this september since it might take a while to sign him and get him up to speed. Also next year is unlikely he'll close since Foulke still has one more year on his contract and I'm sure they'll have him out there unless he unfolds like he did this year. But perhaps he'll be in their pen next year.

Hansen's nasty and would've gone higher in the draft had Boras not been his agent. I'd be shocked if he doesn't make Boston's opening day roster next year and began to move himself up the Bullpen ladder.

I can see him pitching meaningful innings this September if that's true.

lol don't bank on Boras clients to sign quickly, especially the notorious ones... we'll be lucky to see him next April .. Joey Devine is already on a path to the majors, he's probly the better bet if you want fast results

I've heard of scenarios where this guy could be good enough to make the team by September IF he signs soon. But personally, I don't bank on any players' ETAs before they have some minor league experience.

The thing with Boston is that Schilling could flourish as closer and stay there into next season (not likely IMO), Foulke could come back with healthy knees and be successful again, or a closer could be acquired via trade/free agency, so I don't think there is a high probability that Boston will rely on the youngster as a closer next year.
