Is he the real deal this year? Or are his numbers thus far a huge fluke? It's 2+ months into the season and he's still hitting ...

Please note his split stats from the last two years:
[AVG R HR RBI SB]
2002
Pre-All Star-
.265 52 11 37 13
Post-All Star-
.195 34 8 27 3
2001
Pre-All Star-
.277 34 5 30 7
Post-All Star-
.210 15 2 18 4
His numbers aren't staggering, but I can promise you that he will fall off some this year. It's not the All-Star break yet and his numbers are: .365 41 9 28 3. These numbers look very similar to last year's first-half numbers (with the average being higher). My gut tells me his numbers will return to where he has been in the past.

All I can say is ride this horse fast and hard till it breaks down and dies, cowboy.
Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first, the lesson afterwards.
