In a recent article (
Link), Ken Rosenthal calls David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez the best one-two punch in the majors, a modern Mantle-Maris.
Who do you think the top-five one-two punches are in the majors? Keep it to the guys that normally bat consectutively in the order. Here's mine...
Ortiz/Ramirez
Guerrero/Anderson
Delgado/Cabrera
Sheffield/A-Rod
D.Lee/Ramirez
Honorable Mention:
Pujols/Edmonds
Teixeira/Blalock

I don't think there are too many pitchers pumped to face Pujols/Edmonds either. That'd be my #1.

If this were 1-2-3 there is no comparison to Sheff, ARod, Matsui. Otherwise it has to be Manny and Ortiz.
