Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

"As of right now, I want to be the starting center fielder in Shea Stadium.

"I'm not disappointed at all about them getting Beltran. I want to be the starting center fielder there, and I want to take someone's job. I'm not saying I will, and I'm not saying I won't. I just want to get to the big leagues and help win a ring for my team, and if I have to play catcher to do that, I will"

Fat chance :-b

Woah...

The article made one small yet glaring mistake.

And while he has walked 69 times, he's also fanned 66 times

69 walks in 62 games? 8o I knew it was too good to be true. He's only walked 19 times... And only struck out 41 times.

Lol. I didn't even catch that.

Lastings Milledge went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored. He is batting a scorching .441 in 34 at-bats with Binghamton. Mike Jacobs went 2-for-4 with his second triple of the season.

Devil Rays general manager Chuck LaMar said he spoke with the Mets about Baez and Lugo. He also said he came up with a three-way deal involving Tampa Bay, Boston and New York that would've gotten Ramirez to the Mets. He said a proposal was "about as close as it got," adding that the Mets made prospect Lastings Milledge "untouchable throughout this trade deadline."
