over the past month, he has been quite productive. how long until we can say the zito of old is back?

It's going to be a loooong time for me before I ever say the old Zito is back, but in the meantime I have him stashed away for spot starts. If he has a couple more good outings like this he may have a permanent spot in my lineup.

His 2nd half could be huge. ;-D

i've been saying that zito's been turning it around for a while now. he seems to have dealt with the inconsistancy and overthinking that plagued him the last few years. of course it's too early to tell whether this is momentary or not, and whether zito will ever return to 2002 form, but the outlook looks good for improvement at least.

But the huge thing for me is that he still has it, even if only momentarily. That means he still has the potential and upside there. I did my fair share of bashing Zito earlier in the year when people drafted him (for my tastes) too high, but after he was dropped in my league I snatched him up.

From what i've seen his command has been much better his past few starts and his curveball is back to being nasty. He's been getting more run support since Crosby came back. He should have a decent 2nd half but you never know.

He also added a slider against lefties this year that he's been throwing more and more.

looks like he's back for real. maybe he's scared of not being the ace of the staff anymore. helloooo rich harden ;-D

August and September have typically been Zito's best months. I traded Biggio for him 3 weeks ago and I plan on playing him 75% of the time, (weekly lineups). I think he will have a very good 2nd half, as the A's are playing very well as a whole.

He has been a top 10 pitcher since the beginning of May. Even the Ks have been back.
