sticky situation..

Postby Jbyrdo » Sun Jul 10, 2005 5:23 pm

On July 5 I offered a trade to the 6th place team in my league. The trade was awful for him, and I was almost sure he would deny it. I offered to give him Jim Edmonds, Brian Giles, and Matt Lawton for Bobby Abreu, Carlos Beltran, and Magglio Ordonez. As I expected the trade got rejected, but he countered with Magglio and Beltran for Edmonds and Lawton. I quickly accepted this trade and was happy I got this deal. The deal went through the next day and everything was all peachy.

Two days later, I saw this message:
I NEVER PROPOSED THAT TRADE TO JBYRDO AT ALL I WANT MY PLAYERS BACK WHOEVER DID THIS IS A HOMOSEXUAL AND IF ITS NOT FIX I WANT MY 10$ back

Here is the dilemma, he claims that he never offered me this trade and that if he doesn't get his players back, he wants the measley 10 dollars he paid to join this league(we are all friends in this league and decided 10 bucks was a good amount for a friendly H2H league).

He also claimed:
IDK WHO PROPOSED THE TRADE TO JAY BUT I WANT IT FIXED AND IT COST ME ALOT OF POINT THIS WEEK CUZ I DIDNT SET THE PLAYERS HE GAVE ME BACK INTO MY LINEUPO RITE AWAY

i couldnt have made the trade cuz i was in maine from the 4th to the 8th and the trade happeend on the 6th sum1 needs to fix it and if it ist i wan my money back simple as that

And then insulted me, claiming that he saw my trade proposal but doesn't have the time to check fantasy baseball every second like I do.
That isn't even relevant because all transactions take a day to go through, and he also dropped players and picked up players supposedly on June 6.

So the question is, am I obligated to trade his players back because he claims someone went onto his account and offered me that trade. I don't think it is completly positive that someone else offered me that trade on his account, I think he realized he made a mistake and is mad about it.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like sour grapes to me, but I'm not in the league, so hard to say. :-?

Forget about him.. That "SOMEONE" who got into his account and offered you the trade is rethinking his situation..

Maybe that someone else stole his Identity just to make a baseball transaction.. Ask him to call his bank and check if there's money missing..
:~(

If I were you, I wouldn't do squat!.. he could complain all he wants... If it were a commish transaction it would show in Yahoo..

This isn't a sticky situation. This is a situation where your friend is a schmuck.

I'd give him nothing, aside from a smack to the head. Don't give him his 10 bucks. He made a stupid trade and now regrets it. Maybe he was drunk. Maybe he's just dumb. But it's not your fault, nor is it your problem.

Are you the commissioner? If not, just relax, lean back, and let the poor commish sort this one out... !+)

Ugly situation indeed. :-/

This guy is an A1 grade dipstick. Don't give him his money and find a new owner for next season ;-D

Yeah. I think everyone's most likely going to agree on this. The "I GOT HACKED!!!" defense is not plausible when it comes to fantasy baseball transactions. I would definitely add this douchebag to your 'do not invite to play fantasy sports' list if you have one.
