Shelton... what the f...

Postby bunter » Sun Jul 10, 2005 3:00 pm

Who is this guy?

2 more hits so far this afternoon... he's driving the ball on each at bat.

Is he for real? With Morneau struggling badly, i picked him up and i'm thinking about trading Morneau now...

Is he for real folks???

I sure hope so, but I have Morneau as well butI will not bench him in favor of Shelton. In my league however, Shelton's catcher-eligable, so that's where he sits. Boy, I really hope he gets five games in at catcher this year for next year. ;-D

It's unlikely that Shelton will see any time at Catcher. He's learning 1B and picking it up pretty nicely. He'll be at first or DHing as long as he hits...and he is a hitter. Great patience at the plate with a real good eye. Is showing opposite field power which really bodes well for his future.

He was a Pirate phenom who was picked up in the rule five draft last year. The Pirates didn't protect him because they thought he wouldn't be able to play well enough in the field. The hitting he is doing right now is similar to the hitting he has done all season in AAA.

He is a perfect WW type as you can pick him up while he is hot, and should he slump most won't have an emotional attatchment to him making dropping him easy.

This kid has been a pleasant surprise. He hasn't shown any signs of slowing down yet.
