Got a Toronto Blue Jays Homer Bush game used bat in 2000 or 2001. He came back last year in 2010 for the Blue Jays Flashback Fridays where they bring back alumnus back for autograph session pre-game and some other festivities. Brought the bat to the game and he was surprised to see it

Being someone new at buying baseball cards, I have a question... How much should one pay for say a cheap $1 card with an autograph on it? On ebay I just got a signed Mauer and Morneau card for about $20. I've seen other good players around the sports world with signed cards of them going for around $15 or even less, with a COA and everything.

Are you just saying a rondom factory set card with an autograph on it that is just gotten at a game or singing? If so its more of a person thing than actual value because theres nothing really to compare it to. A baseball w a COA can have prices to compare to but with cards its more of how much personal value it has to the buyer. I have the ticket Halladay pitched his no hitter at in the playoffs last year and had a buyer say having his autograph really doesnt change the value too much he'd rather have it on a ball to my suprise. While it's cool to have the auto, a picture,ball, or jersey is a better target. Hope that helps

PS got a Ryne Sanberg auto on a ball in spring training at got him to write "HOF 05" under it

Yea thats probably what it's worth... probably less. But if youre a fan of Hamilton it would be cool to have for that cheap. Its all because theres not a market that exists for josh hamilton 2010 Topps signed cards ya know? But a baseball or a factory produced auto like:

brings a much higher price.

The value is more to the buyer but if you try to sell it to a buyer you would have a difficult time just because its on a card.

Exactly what you should do. If you want a collection of great autographs and not spend crazy amounts of money that is perfect. Just be very careful of fakes
