Just about an hour ago at my traditional sunday breakfast joint- The Good Egg- I recognized the Diamondbacks pitcher Mike Koplove sitting just a few tables away. When he got up to pay I introduced myself and got his autograph on a take-out menu.
Made my weekend right there.
Let me tell you his wife is HAWT
In any event, I also have Nolan Ryan's autograph on a baseball card, Mark McGwire's on a card, and George Brett's on a Sheraton hotel brochure.
funny that you mention mike koplove. i actually partied with him this past new years at a party in philly (his wife was there too)...he was a cool dude, he even karaoked meat loaf
Just recently got Doyle Alexander's autograph on a ball. Signed in person by him.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

Right on, he seemed really cool and friendly to me too. I could tell he was kind of flattered to be recognized.

No worries. I didn't move this one though. It was right here in the right forum the first time I saw it.

I grew up in Miami and have a couple of players' autographs. I have Jose Canseco's on a ball and on his rookie card. When I got it in '95 I thought it would be worth something someday. Guess again.
I also had an incident similar to "The Sandlot" happen to me. I got Arod sig on a ball before he started playing for the Mariners. I set it on my desk in my room, and one day I come back and the ball isn't there. Turns out my younger brothers played with it and then just chucked it back in the bucket of balls in my garage. The autograph was completely rubbed off.
