Wow...pitching this year has been a complete and total nightmare. I have never seen it this bad with injuries and underperformers among the top group of pitchers in all the years I have played this game. Oswalt, Peavy and Clemens may be the only 3 pre-season elite SPs that have not been busts or disappointments. Maybe I missed someone.

At least I know who fills one of my DL spots when Javy is ready.

Ouch. My squad will survive (for now), but I was pulling for him to get that 2nd Cy.

Yeah, I mean, it's subjective, but those of us in St. Louis knew that Carpenter was the real deal after last year. So, in our minds, he's not been a disappointment, either. You're right, though, that pitching has been decimated - starters and closers both - this year.

I mean, I turned down my Lidge for his C. Cordero in the pre-season. Who saw that one coming???

It was a bad deal. You can wind up winning ANY deal, but that doesn't mean it was a good one at the time you made it. If you were absolutely convinced that Halladay was going to go down, it's still a bad deal because you could have done much better. Man, Halladay has been so light's out I'm amazed anybody was able to peal him away from you. But, anyway, congratulations on this trade looking a lot better for you than it did yesterday.

I'm hearing 4-6 weeks...how many starts is he projected to miss with the All-Star Break coming up?

Before the DL news came out it was only being reported as a minor contusion...very surprised about this news.

Can anyone fill me in? Halladay is my ace.

Anyone think this might be a good time to buy low on Halladay if you own a pitching-starved team that's guaranteed to make the playoffs in a H2H league?

Or are we talking about 1 month MINIMUM with the whole season looking like a lost cause?
