Didn't see this one coming.

Hm...so now it's Sanchez and Betancourt and a bunch of minor leaguers...I wonder if there will ever be a real big-name guy who gets bagged.
Don't forget Rincon

My point exactly. All these guys are forgettable.

please don't be this dumb .. Betancourt is one of the best RP's in baseball ... underappreciated? obviously... forgettable? not really, if your a fan of baseball

Do you think the fact that no "big-name" players have been bagged is because they have the $$ to buy undetectable steriods/masking agents that keep them from testing positive?

a) Smiley = humor, get it? b) My point is that none of these guys are big names. You really think Betancourt and Rincon are who people were thinking of when they were debating juice policy? c) And frankly, don't tell me in 30 years as many people will remember Betancourt as your Bagwells or Gagnes or whoever else (not that I think these guys are juicers, just an example).

I didn't think you could begin your suspension until the DL stint was over ..
Not worth looking into, but interesting all the same.

i am fairly sure you can't -- i think Gagne had to come off the DL a couple of days early to serve his 2 day suspension for yelling at umps from the bench while on the DL.
Well I originally heard it on sports talk radio. I found it odd that Raffy would even appeal if he could start serving the suspension now. But here I just found a small
AP blurb about the suspension:
The right-hander will serve the suspension while on the disabled list, and it will cost him $18,503 of his $338,600 salary.
Seems to me that he really shouldn't be allowed to serve his suspension while on the DL. It really doesn't penalize him much that way.
