Just heard about this on the Cleveland broadcast. Apparently Betancourt released a statement, saying that he was upset about it and was going to file a greivance.
Didn't see this one coming.
EDIT: Forget to put the question that I wanted to ask about this.
He would have to serve the suspension after he comes off the DL, correct?

Hm...so now it's Sanchez and Betancourt and a bunch of minor leaguers...I wonder if there will ever be a real big-name guy who gets bagged.

Guess I'll answer my own question since I just heard the answer.
It's a 10 day suspension, which is in effect while he's on the DL and during the AS break. Meaning Raffy would be able to return to the team 3 days after he comes off the DL.

Starting to look like no big names will be busted this year.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....

are you sure?
I didn't think you could begin your suspension until the DL stint was over ..
Not worth looking into, but interesting all the same.

i am fairly sure you can't -- i think Gagne had to come off the DL a couple of days early to serve his 2 day suspension for yelling at umps from the bench while on the DL.
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

Another Venezuelan. I wonder how good his English is. After the Rincon suspension, I read that a lot of these guys aren't coached as to what they can and cannot take due to language barriers (although I don't have the link).
In addition, many of the banned substances are just over the counter down there.
