Bill Simmons' AL 1st Half Review

Postby AT » Fri Jul 08, 2005 1:18 pm

If you read Bill Simmons already then just skip to the link at the bottom.

If you don't read Bill Simmons or have never heard of him then you need to start reading him. He's absolutely the best read if you appreciate light hearted, often hilarious, sports knowledge from the consumate fan. He throws in a ton of hilarious pop culture stuff in his columns and his knowledge of the 80's is down right frightening. Take a look at his stuff. I won't let you down.

Haha, great read. I haven't been reading the Guy as much as I used to. My favorite bit was the Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston thing. Hysterical. ;-D It's also good to see he's on the right side of the Jeter All-Star debate. ;-D ;-D

And anybody who hates on Peter Gammons needs to read the final award. Say what you want, the guy's a legend who deserves his spot in the Hall for his coverage. I only say this because there are too many folks around who see his current less-than-stellar reporting and his Sox bias and decide that it invalidates his entire career. Bull. :-t

Just finished reading the article. Good read ;-D

If Roy Halladay was playing anywhere else in the major leagues, he would be considered one of those "13 players essential to an All-Star Game", but that's what you get for playing in Toronto.

The best are his mailbag columns. Awesome. If you don't read them, I suggest you go back to his archive and look at them when you get a chance.

He has been a good humor replacement for Gregg Easterbrook (who moved over to NFL.com if anyone cares.)

I do enjoy his columns, but has anyone seen any of his cartoons they play on espn.com? They're terrible! :-P
