With Foulke on the DL and zero closers availiable in any of my leagues, I went ahead and added him in a couple of leagues. Let's just hope he gets a few saves to make it worth it.

i know i picked him up, but only because i am the king of hoarding new closers...waiting till the pick up value and shipping them off in trades. I never draft great closers because it tends to come back and haunt me. i live for new closing announcements.

I think this kid will be decent. I'm glad he was officially named closer because I picked him up in most of my leagues.

But I was wondering one thing, How do you pronounce his last name?

Does it sound like Be-LIE-ul?

he has a french last name and you pronounce it Bay-Lil.

i don't think i'll pick him up, he has 33 K in 53 innings, an era of 4.22 and his whip is 1.39, it's not really good.

edit: though that he has 4 er in 13.2 innings since june started for an era of 2,63, but only 5 K.

By the way, my closers to start the season were BJ Ryan (who I still have), Benitez (ouch), Mike Adams (ouch), Joe Borowski (ouch) and Lyon (ouch). So yes, I have a 2/10 in saves and am desperate. I'll take Belisle and any other player who has been named closer at this point.

I'd grab Putz now if you want to get ahead of the game. He's likely a FA and there's a decent chance he'll be closing soon if you ask me.

As for Belisle, give him a mulligan on this one. As Homebrewer mentioned, it was a solid line of lefties. Really, how often can that come along?
