Anyone still hanging onto him? What are the chances of him closing again this year, and if so, how effective will he be? I am starting to think he may not even be worth a DL slot any more. Other opinions. Am I the only holding onto hope with him?

I'm holding on to him in hopes of getting 1 solid month of saves from mid August to September. However, If I had any confidence in another player available on the DL in my league's FA pool I would probably dump him. He's probably worthless with all this babying and his arm injury history.

Looks like he should be back in a week or two. He could pay off big, as Arizona has no one pitching lights out in the pen. I'm sticking with him.

1 month of saves? Isn't he supposed to be back after the AS Break?

i have held him in one league where i am short on closers and had an open DL slot. if you have held on to him this long i wouldnt drop him just yet. give him a week and see if the soreness was just from throwing hard in the bullpen or an indication his injury wasnt fully healed.
Brandon Lyon (elbow) suffered a setback in his rehab after suffering soreness in his elbow after Wednesday's bullpen session.
The doctors told him he just needed an extra day off, but Lyon is concerned that something more is wrong. He cancelled today's session and will try it tomorrow instead. He reportedly threw very hard on Wednesday, so maybe a little rest is the answer. Jul. 8 - 9:55 am et

I dumped him long ago, but I guess if you've held out this long what's another two weeks to a month?
I especially didn't like to hear that Lyon is questioning the health of his arm. I'd take a chance on any other guy actually closing or in line to close over Lyon.
Then again if you don't need the DL spot for another player...no need to just cut him for the hell of it.
