Very disappointed by this news. This was a great opportunity to see the sport's profile get a massive boost - not just in Europe, but across the world.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
That really sucks...............I can see why though, The Americans seem to win baseball and softball ALOT in the olympics and the other countries are trying to lower our medal count

Actually, the US won gold in 2000 and bronze in 1996, but nothing in 2004 or 1992. And we haven't won a world title since the '70s (Cuba has that on lockdown).
This really blows, I'm a big proponent of a strong international baseball system like FIFA, and taking baseball out of the Olympics is a step backwards. I still remember the first time I ever heard of Ben Sheets and Ro Oswalt was in 2000 at the olympics.
I heard that last night and couldn't believe it. I don't care about the Olympics (at all), but I can't believe they couldn't ax one of the other "sports" they have now. Baseball is one of the more popular sports in the world, at least in this hemisphere. Just reaffirms my decision to not give a damn when it comes to the Olympics.
Why couldn't they cut out that dumb canadian sport where they roll some plastic thing down the ice and two people sweep in front of it..now that is a worthless sport.

That's the winter olympics, which are even more pointless than the summer games.
