Now that is a good question...
Anybody out there with an answer to that one?

As long as Shelton's hitting they're not going to bring Pena back. He'a had a fair shot in the majors and now it's Shelton's turn. Pena is doing reasonably well in Toledo though.

Shelton will remain at first base the rest of the season. With Pena hitting well in the minors that will just improve his value to trade purposes.

I think the Tigers are done with Pena for the year. Shelton's earned his spot at this point, and I really don't see him going anywhere unless he gets into some kind of horrible hitting slump.

Not a chance that Shelton loses time to Pena. Pena may have earned a shot to get another chance at the big leagues, but it will only come via trade or at the expense of Dmitri Young.
Dmitri Young has an option that automatically kicks in for next year if he reaches 500 PA. Dmitri hasn't been all that great the last year and a half, so the Tigers may try to do something to try and slow down his playing time if his average keeps dropping. He's already been sitting out some games lately as it is.
