what is the deal with this guy? He's tearing up the ball. Great AFL, minor league stint but will he continue to hit like this? He's also a catcher so I wonder if he will fill in for Pudge. Hmmm... :-?

I should just change my username to "No, Chris Shelton is Not Going to Play Catcher in the Forseeable Future".

He looks like a hamster, btw.

Because having only played 6 games behind the plate in 2004, he doesn't meet the criteria (it's 8 or 9 games if I'm not mistaken).

It's only 5 starts in my league. Perhaps a yahoo goof? :-?

He played in 6 games, started 0. I thought it was 5 starts of 8-9 games played. :-?

If so, then they got it right.

I believe it is 10 games played in which would put Shelton well short... the only way he will ever gain eligibility is a major pudge injury, and a lack of good fielding AAA backups to Vance Wilson (I don't know the Tigers minor league system well enough to know if they have a slick fielding Catcher at AAA).

back to the question at hand, is this guy gonna continue to have PT or what? Seems like logan would need to get squeezed out & move monroe to center from him to play everyday from here on out (assuming mags & d.young stay healthy/productive)... not that i'm opposed to logan riding the pine but he's a much better defensive outfielder than monroe/shelton. Just curious what people thought. He's hitting to well to be benched right now, what happens if/when he cools off?
