I don't know enough about Boston's personnel to know what a deal for Mota or T.Jones would entail, but the concept seems plenty sound to me. Anyone want to speculate on what this would take and how likely it is?

Did you hear this anywhere? It could work with Payton being DFA's, and the Marlins playing currently, but there's got to be more players involved.
Personally i dont want anything at all to do with Todd Jones. I could sooooo be wrong but i dont think there is ANY chance at all of him keeping this up for the rest of the year.

no, like the header says, just speculation. idea came while i was thinking about trading for Mota and what his odds of closing were, including for another team.
Well, there has been speculation of Mota being traded (to the Yankees for Gordon was one rumor I heard) so with the Sox looking for 'pen help, it certainly isn't out of the question.
it could happen, but i don't know if the marlins could afford the hit to the bullpen, considering their troubles so far. i don't know what guys the red sox could give to offset this for the fish.

I think I'd be grinning all day if Boston got Mota. That guy is a hurler when he's on top of things. I say win back the Florida fans by trading them back Millar! Kinda like a Conine thing... c'mon, please take Millar...
As for Jones, yeah, don't want him. Boston already had him not too long ago if I recall. Notice he's off the team...
Are you guys kidding?? Mota cant close in a sea of orange seats and you think he can survive the pressures of a Boston or a NY?? Your players need to have a special character component in dealing with those pressures. Mota has yet to prove he is closer material. The Sox have been down the Todd Jones road. Need to find more Timlin types. Guys who have been through some wars and wont get rattled with minislumps or avid and rabid fans.
