Foulke out 4-6 weeks

NESN just reported it before during today's pre-game. He's having his knee scoped.

Timlin most likely closes, with a chance of Schilling (YES Schilling) closing when he gets off the DL.
If a man dwells on the past, then he robs the present.
But if a man ignores the past, he may rob the future.
The seeds of our destiny are nurtured by the roots of our past.

Geez. I have K-Rod, F. Cordero, Hermanson, and Dempster for saves. I picked up Timlin just for holds. I think I'm gonna see if anybody wants to offer me something for him. He's been pitching great, and if he does a great job closing while Faulk is out, do you think the BoSox might just keep Timlin at closer?

Timlin

Doubtful that Timlin will be the closer for long. Schilling is coming off the DL after the break and Theo said on NESN tonight that he will come in as the closer for a while. That is until Schill can get his stamina back up to start. By that time Foulke Impolsion should be back.

I picked up Timlin 4 days ago when I kept seeing Foulke struggle. Almost feel like I know what I'm doing. ;-)

At least now Foulke can't blow any saves or cost me any more points. To bad I don't have any DL room for him until Hudson comes off.

I think its possible Shill will close after a couple outtings, think of how dominating he'd be for 3 outs where he can just go all out with all he has, that's just scary.

Schilling won't be able to handle it everyday... not at first anyway. They need to bring him in lightly, and keep an eye on the ankle. So Timlin will be getting some saves still. I picked up Timlin for Holds, and hope that is mostly all he gets, since I have long since given up on saves.

Embree got the save last night, but I'm praying Terry keeps him out of that role from now on. Maybe he's just trying to pad is stats for trade bait....

Timlin had appeared in 4 straight games. Embree and his 8.00 ERA won't be getting very many save ops.

I don't think moving an ace to the bullpen is ever a good idea, even if he's coming back from an injury. I weighed in on the Curt Schilling situation and fantasy implications in my blog if anyone wants to check it out.
