solid 2nd half. he's hitting way way way better then he was early in the season. he's a great buy low. if ichiro picks it up, it should be a big 2nd half.
Well if you saw my team it wouldn't look that ridiculous. Let's just say I already had A-Rod, Beltran, Crawford, and Kent, and acquired Tejada via a trade. And I really needed one more solid SP, Peavy was exactly what I needed. And I'm still winning saves without Izzy. Plus I've dominated the league since week 2 so I have a little room to fool around.
All things being equal, I'll admit I "lost" the trade in terms of pure player value but in terms of boosting my team's points, I may have made the right move, especially if Beltre keeps hitting at the level he should be.

That's what everybody says when they just got hosed in a trade...

I made the trade a while ago and I knew what I was doing. I was aware that Tejada and Izzy would probably be more valuable but my excess of power and saves allowed me to trade them for a boost at weaker categories. FYI, I'm now first in wins, 3rd in K's, 2nd in ERA, and 1st in WHIP. I haven't done the math but the pitching boost Peavy has given me has probably outweighed the offensive drop from dealing Tejada. And any success on Beltre's part will only help to cushion that drop, the main point of my post.
