It looks to be photoshopped, but I don't see y it would be on CNN.com if it was...... :-?

If the gates are suspended overhead and they aren't real long- they only reach down as far as the neck, then sure, it's real.

I think we all assumed that the gates came up from out of the water.

thats it exactly. they are suspended over head. sometimes they get closer to the water but they dont always go all the way down to the water.

I agree. The gate is in front of her. Looks pretty normal...

it looks fine to me...i mean...she might still have a sore neck, but it doesn't look photoshopped. the gate is where it's supposed to be...i guess...i'm no kayak expert, but i do watch a lot of tv during the olympics.

Why would they make the last section white though? Seems like it would be easier to distinguish if it was green at the end, though I have no idea what I'm talking about. :-D
