Can someone explain to me how Orioles RP Chris Ray came into the game, with the lead, and pitched 1.2 scoreless innings, "held" onto the lead, but didn't get credited with a hold?
Yet, Steve Kline came into the game, gave up 2 hits, didn't even record an out, and did credited with a hold.
Here's the boxscore:

I'm just a bit confused, and PO'ed considering that Ray is on my team and Kline is on my opponent's team in our H2H league.

You're right, my bad.
But why does Kline get statistical credit for giving up 2 hits and not recording an out?

Because he "held" the lead

In my holds league if a guy doesn't record an out, he doesn't get credit for a hold, regardless of what the boxscore says. I don't know if that's the same in your league. That makes sense, as the pitcher is just causing more problems and not doing his job!

It's been corrected now and Kline is not getting credited with a hold. There's a history behind this iirc, as there are two different definitions of the "hold" and one of them did not require a batter to be retired. This may be detailed in some of the old holds threads.
