Cole Hamels to AA

From what I can gather, Cole Hamels, who has simply dominated A ball, will be getting promoted to AA, the Reading Phillies.

Nice to hear, though it is somewhat suprising since his last start was less then stellar by a good bit, didn't have his control much at all. That being said though, I think it was clear he was already to good for High A and it was more a rehab thing then anythng.

Precisely. This was nothing more than a "rehab assignment".

He was dominant 2 of 3 starts.

I took him 8th overall in a minor league draft headed into this season...then he broke his hand. Glad to see good news about him.

Gotta figure Hamels has a legit shot at sticking with the parent outfit in '06. A spot on the rotation will be his for the taking, that's pretty apparent.

His AA debut went fairly well until the 6th.

Going into the 6th he had only allowed 1 hit and no ER's, but gave up 4 hits and 2 runs in the 6th. Not to worried about that due to him just coming back and only going 6 innings in just 1 of his previous 3 starts. Once he gets his strength and stamina back, not much will stand in his way.
