He just needs to work on his swing! The rest of his game is fine. I think he needs a tutor. Maybe Ryne Sandberg or Mark Grace can start tutoring him on how to take high fastballs.

To those who recommend holding onto him in keepers and dynasties - what's your timetable? this season? another season? What would make you finally pull the trigger?

Depends on how deep your keague is, how many people each team keeps, etc. The deeper the keepers go, the longer you should hold. If you are in a 10 team mixed league keeping 8, Patterson probably can be cut unless you have a very weak team. If you are in a 12 team league keeping 10 or more players, then it becomes debatebale.

IM holding on to him for a little while longer. I might give him a week into the all star break to show some signs of helping my team but the only reason I really drafted him is for SB but with Nook Logan on FA its hard not to let go of Patterson.

*Thanks to Super Manny*

G#ddam. I knew you would inject some unrealistic optimism for Korey.
He needs more help than his swing. Trust me, I don't especially like the Cubs but I take the time to watch them (and no, i don't root against them).
The truth is the guy is not a leadoff hitter, never will be. And contrary to your belief, it's not his swing. It's the fact that "plate discipline" is not in his vocabulary. I don't think there is an 0-2 high fastball that Korey just can't resist (see Juan Uribe).
