Need some strategy advice

So what do you do when you have two of your starters going up against each other and you count losses? Start both and hope for the best? Pick which one you think has the best chance at the win?

I've been burned by this a few times this year. For instance tonight I chose to start Randy and sit Bonderman, and that didn't work out so well. Just want some opinions on what to do next time this situation comes around.

just start both and hope for a 1-0 game when the 1 run comes off a run given up by the reliever after your pitcher pitched 8 shutout innings but in all seriousness, start both unless its a big mismatch (lesser pitcher against good offense) and hope for a low scoring game. this works even better if your league doesnt count losses

yeah i've been in this position, and i usually judge it by what i need. if i need a win, innings or k's i start both, but if the only thing i have to worry about is not getting losses...i suppose i should sit both, but i always end up starting both anyways. so my suggestion is follow my advice, sort of. if it's the beginning of the week, h2h of course, i tend to start both as well. i only bench one if its a mismatched matchup or its a weaker starter.

I usually start both too, and as already been said, hope for a low scoring game and one of you pitcher's gets the W. It really stinks where neither one wins.
