I think another aspect of baseball that causes players to be injured is just the nature of the game. In baseball there is a lot of standing and waiting around. Then when the ball is put into play, the players are going from a very inactive state to a full-out sprint. This sudden movement has to be the cause of some of the hamstring/leg issues that we see a lot of. In most other sports, the athlete has a chance to move around before turning it on to a full 100% effort.

I once saw a hockey player AND a baseball player BOTH pull a hammy while standing up from a celebrity poker table after a hand had been suspensfully played out. LOL
