can n e 1 tell me whats the deal with this guy .. he is a great prospect .. struggled when called up last year but im thinking hes there 5 this year ..does anyone know for sure and is he worth the risk over guys like clif lee, dan wright, rafael soriano, or maybe even a older guy like jon thomson

i'd put him in the same class as I would any team's #5 starter. Only pick him up on waivers if he's facing a team like Tampa Bay or Detroit!

Well, part of Rauch's struggles were probably due to lingering injury effects. Still, I'm not so sure we can expect a breakout year in 2003. He has talent, but he still has quite a bit to learn. His playing time is probably safer than Soriano's, but at this point, I'd say Wright is more advanced.
